You might not know it, but the Chinese year of the Rabbit is approaching.
I quite like Chinese astrology (in a fantasy way) because each year comes with a certain “mood”, they aren’t just numbers.
There’s more charm to it, right?
Anyway, I’ve recently sent a submission to Spectrum, for the first time.
I don’t expect to make it into the book, but I like the idea of being reviewed by some of the most well known illustrators. It puts me in a defensive and humble mindset, which helps me view my work objectively, in order to improve.
I will also submit a few things to Expose’, it doesn’t cost a thing. Worth trying.
In fact I’m finishing the fairies (remember?) and if it turns out ok I’ll submit that too.
It’s been quite a difficult one, but I learned from it too.
