Check this very complete and interesting article by Christopher Burdett (the guy who draws monsters!) about the benefits of blogging.

He’s a very consistent blogger, he updates his site three times a week regularly! I sincerely can’t keep up with that for now, but what he says it’s true: blogging increases traffic. It’s been true for me too. Since I changed my website to this new format, traffic has increased three times!
It’s not steady yet, it’s all so new to me, but so far it’s been pretty good.

Knowing that someone out there might be willing to read about my humble experiences in “Art land” encourages me to work more, in order to share and enjoy.
Sharing is such a vital thing for anyone involved into arts. Art is communication, it’s meant to be exposed one way or another.
Since I share my work on the web, my enthusiasm has gone up immensely.
I might be an antisocial person in life, but on the web I like to stay in contact with people. I like being plugged into the parallel world unfolding beyond this little screen.

Unfortunately while this little blog of mine is having a good start due to more frequent posts, my Toxitizens comic lacks exposure big time, for the very same reasons: lack of frequent updates.
For webcomics this is vital and it saddens me because I really have no time to keep up with personal illustration work and a webcomic on top of my dayjob duties at the same time. I must alternate, hence Toxitizens always suffers.
I’m really attached to my little comic and I wish it could find some more love and attention, especially from me. I hope that day will come, but I’ll have to change a few things about my profession first.
For now I keep working on it whenever I can. It must be the slowest comic on the web, but I enjoy it and that’s what matters.

Of course traffic and blogging wouldn’t be enough if the content sucked, so first of all I always try to make relevant posts and upload the best work I can.

I love you all! Even the google and yahoo bots who kept me company for years! 😀
