I just finished this new illustration. The first I paint using ArtRage.
It was a learning process as well, but I enjoyed it so much that my intention now is to make it my primary application for digital painting.
ArtRage simulates real media pretty well, which is something I’ve been looking for lately. I like textures and brushstrokes.
For this one I really wanted to emphasize the magic blue objects, so I deliberately made the rest more uniformly warm and slightly desaturated. I wanted this to feel as a scene from a mysterious distant past, in exotic lands whose history has been lost.
Anyway, to give you an idea of how it looks, here are a couple of close ups.
